Festival City Symphony will conclude its “Symphony Sundays” series this season with a concert titled Magnificent Moods on Sunday, May 4, 2014, at 3:00PM at the Pabst Theater, 144 East Wells Street.
The concert will feature the works of one composer, Robert Schumann. Festival City Symphony will begin with the moody “Manfred Overture,” based on a poem by Lord Byron. Nationally recognized Milwaukee pianist Jeannie Yu will perform as soloist in Schumann’s great “Piano Concerto in A minor. The “Symphony No.3 (Rhenish)” or “Of the Rhine” then ends the Sunday season with German folk dances and imagery of the magnificent Cologne Cathedral.
Milwaukee’s Festival City Symphony, the oldest performing symphony orchestra in the area, showcases area professional musicians. Its mission is to extend the reach of classical music in the community with reasonable pricing and informative formats that embrace people of all ages.
